Distance Reiki

Let’s talk about 'energy' for a moment.
Energy is a property of matter and space. It can be transferred between objects, converted into different forms, but it cannot be created or destroyed. It’s intrinsic to everything that interacts within the universe. All living beings (humans, animals, insects, plants) constantly take in and release energy.

Understanding this makes it easier to grasp how energy-based practices like Reiki work.

A Reiki practitioner, once attuned by their Reiki Master and Teacher, is able to connect with universal energy and channel it toward you to support healing and balance.
Do you need to be in the same room for this to happen?
No, you don’t.

Clients who have received Distance Reiki (also called Remote Reiki) share the same kind of feedback as those who’ve had in-person sessions. The effects are just as powerful.

Your practitioner uses a specific symbol and intention learned in their training to connect with your energy field, no matter where you are in the world. Your experience won’t be diminished at all.

Offering Distance Reiki means we can support clients globally — no travel, no barriers.

How to prepare for your session

The good news?
No need to commute. You can enjoy all the benefits of Reiki from the comfort and safety of your own space.

Wear something cosy. Have a blanket nearby in case you get chilly.
Ideally, you’ll be in a quiet room where you won’t be disturbed.

Want to set the mood? Light a candle, burn some incense, play calming music, hold your favourite crystal — whatever helps you relax. You’re making time for your wellbeing. You deserve to enjoy every second of it.

📧You’ll receive an email before your session with these suggestions, so you’ll have everything handy.

It’s also worth knowing that your session doesn’t have to take place at home. You can choose any environment where you feel comfortable: your office, a favourite outdoor spot... with your baby in your arms, or your dog curled up beside you... It’s completely your choice.

The session explained

Here’s how it works

At your scheduled session time, open your laptop or phone, make sure you’re connected to the internet, and click the Zoom link that was sent to you in a separate email before the session.

Your practitioner will admit you into the meeting and guide you from there.
If you run into any issues, just reach out. We’ll make sure you can still enjoy your session in a way that works for you.

You’ll begin with a short chat. Your practitioner may ask 'What brought you here today?'
You’re always welcome to share as much or as little as feels right.

Having an intention for the session can be beneficial, but it is not required.

Ask any questions. This is your space.

Next, your practitioner will invite you to get comfortable: lying down on a sofa, bed, yoga mat, pillows — wherever you feel most at ease. You may choose to close your eyes (most clients do, and many fall asleep — that’s perfectly okay). There are no rules.

✧ If you’ve booked a session that includes a Guided Meditation, you’ll begin with that, helping you relax and feel present and grounded.

✧Then the Reiki will start: a quiet, intuitive time to restore your energy flow.

When the session ends, your practitioner will gently let you know.
You’ll have the chance to ask questions, share your impressions, or receive feedback, if you wish.

✧If your session includes a Card Reading, that will follow to close the experience.

This involves selecting one card from an Oracle deck, chosen intuitively for you. The card offers guidance and encouragement, always intended for your highest good. It’s often a message you need to hear, perhaps in response to a question or situation that’s important to you. This gentle message offers reflection, reassurance, and support for your journey and your healing.

How will you feel?

Most people feel deeply relaxed.
Your mind might drift off or you may remain alert to your surroundings.
Some feel warmth, cold, tingling, heaviness, or lightness in certain areas. Others see colours, perceive scents, or suddenly recall people or memories.

These sensations are your body’s way of releasing what no longer serves you. Sometimes, that release brings a bit of emotional clearing, such as the need to cry, or physical responses like tiredness, mild nausea, or a runny nose. That’s all part of the healing process and can happen during the session or in the following days.

But please don’t expect any particular outcome. Your experience might be completely different and unique. That’s all valid.

Not feeling anything is also quite common and doesn’t mean Reiki isn’t working; it simply means your body is responding in its own way.

After your session

Take it easy.
Drink plenty of water and, if possible, avoid intense activity.

You’ll likely sleep soundly that night.
Give yourself some quiet time, if you can, to stay connected to the calm and clarity you’ve cultivated.

In the days that follow, stay open. You might notice small shifts... in mood, energy, thought patterns, or how you respond to situations.
If anything does come up, feel free to write it down, reflect on it, or simply observe.

Your practitioner might offer a few suggestions to support your holistic journey, but please know that no action is really needed. Reiki energy continues to do its work for a day or two after the session. Just allow it and enjoy it.

And of course, you’re always welcome to contact us at Experience Reiki with questions, feedback, or simply to share how you're feeling.
